Micro-Current Therapy

Micro-current is the application of tiny amounts of electrical current to the injured part of the body. Micro-current helps injured tissue to heal faster and also provides relief from pain caused by injury or chronic conditions.

Micro-current therapy can be helpful for these and other health challenges:

  • Disc injuries
  • Nerve injuries
  • Fibromyalgia and myofascial pain
  • Bone fractures
  • Tendon, ligament and muscle injuries
  • Whiplash injuries
  • Pain relief

Micro-current therapy is most valuable when combined with the Scientific Therapeutic Exercise Progression (S.T.E.P.) exercise program and our other manual therapies.

How Micro-Current Therapy Works.

Your body has a micro-current "circulatory system" that provides intercellular communication through electromagnetic signaling. When you have an injury, this signaling is disrupted or diminished. Without the proper electromagnetic signals, your cells can't do their job efficiently.

Micro-current therapy helps to restore your electromagnetic circulation system back to normal, thus allowing your injured cells to repair themselves. This leads to healing and prevention of re-injury.

If you want to know more about how micro-current therapy works, we suggest you read The Body Electric: Electromagnetism and the Foundation of Life, by Robert Becker, M.D. In this book, he describes how tiny electrical currents speed up healing and regeneration of injured tissue and bone.
