After your physical evaluation, an individualized S.T.E P. exercise program is prescribed for healing your tissue. A S.T.E P. exercise program offers many significant health benefits, including:
S.T.E P. is a progression of exercise that may begin with increasing circulation and blood flow to your injured tissue in order to initiate repair at the cell level. At the same time, S.T.E.P. aids in the removal of pain-causing substances from your body. Once your tissue is getting better blood flow, S.T.E P. can be progressed to increase your strength or mobility. But if you start to train for these qualities too soon, your tissues may not be ready and could rupture, leading to more pain and inflammation. This is why S.T.E P. uses a very careful progression, based on our careful evaluation of your progress. S.T.E P. also protects your injured tissue. There is no pain with this exercise program and mindful awareness is encouraged as you participate. Each exercise is modified to help you achieve the desired results without pain or re-injury.
