If you’re experiencing wrist pain while writing, you may have carpal tunnel syndrome. Carpal tunnel syndrome is one of the most common causes of wrist pain with pain characterized by numbness and tingling in the hand, wrist or arm. Repetitive wrist movements such as those used when writing, typing, sewing or using a computer mouse can cause carpal tunnel syndrome.
My Wrist Hurts
Wrist pain can occur from injuries like fractures and sprains or from overuse and arthritis. If your pain is severe, you’re experiencing swelling, and you notice your wrist is deformed, you may have fractured your wrist. If you have mild pain and numbness in your hand or wrist, this could be signs of carpal tunnel. Rest, physical therapy, and a splint may help reduce pain related to carpal tunnel.
