If you have a swollen elbow, you might have bursitis. This occurs when the bursa is inflamed — which can be caused by overuse of the elbow or as a result of an injury.
My Elbow Hurts
Pain in the elbow can come on gradually, or cause sudden sharp discomfort. Most elbow pain is caused by sports injuries, falls, vehicle accidents, and overuse of the elbow. Physical therapy is a way to treat injuries to the elbow in a way that helps promote total healing.
